For Shopify stores

Get Your Shopify Products Recommended in AI Answers

Shoppers ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Grok for the best in a category before they know your store exists. AEO Track asks those same engines about your catalog, and shows you whether your products come up — or whose do.

The trial needs no credit card, and nothing you track is deleted when it ends.

You do not have a brand problem. You have a product problem.

Most AI visibility tools answer one question: is my brand mentioned? For a shop that is the wrong question. Nobody asks an assistant about a store they have never heard of. They ask “what are the best noise-cancelling headphones under $200?” — and either your product is in the answer or it is not.

Answering that needs something most tools cannot do: knowing what you sell. AEO Track connects to your Shopify catalog and builds the tracked questions out of your real product types and collections, ranked by how many products sit in each. The questions are about your categories, in your buyers’ words, not a list you had to invent on a signup form.

Then it does the other half. When you write an FAQ, it publishes as FAQPage JSON-LD onto the product page it is about — because that is the page an assistant is deciding whether to cite. Start a free trial for your store to see where you stand before you connect anything.

How it works

Four steps, about ten minutes, no App Store install.

1

Connect your store

In your Shopify admin, open Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps, create an app, and grant it read_products, read_metafields and write_metafields. Paste the Admin API token into AEO Track. There is nothing to install from the Shopify App Store.

2

We read what you sell

AEO Track pulls your product types and collections — not your orders, customers, or prices — and ranks them by how many products sit in each, so the questions cover your main lines rather than the one-off you listed last year.

3

We ask the engines

Those categories become questions a shopper would actually type, and they go to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Grok on a weekly schedule. Every answer is stored, so you can read what was said about your category and who was named.

4

You publish the answer back

Generate an FAQ for a product, publish it as FAQPage JSON-LD onto that product, paste the one-line Liquid snippet into your theme once, and re-check. Future publishes update it automatically.

What you get

Every item here is something the product does today, on every paid plan.

Questions built from your catalog

AEO Track reads your product types and collections, ranks them by how many products sit in each, and writes the questions a shopper asks about those categories — not a generic list you have to invent yourself.

Five engines, every week

ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Grok, re-checked on a weekly schedule on every plan. You see the answer text, not just a number, so you can read exactly how your category is being described.

Who gets recommended instead

For every question you lose, AEO Track names the store the engines recommend in your place, how often, and which of their pages was cited. That is the gap, stated plainly enough to act on.

FAQ schema, onto the product

Generate an FAQ and publish it as schema.org FAQPage JSON-LD — storewide, or onto the individual product it is actually about. It is written as a Shopify metafield and rendered by a one-line Liquid snippet.

Proof a fix did something

Every fix you mark done is stamped with the score at that moment and plotted against what happened next. It is the one honest way to tell whether the work is paying — and the answer is allowed to be no.

Which of your pages got cited

When an engine backs an answer with a source, AEO Track records which page it used and for which question — so you can tell a collection page doing the work from a product page being ignored.

Why the FAQ goes on the product, not the whole store

The usual way to add FAQ schema to a Shopify store is one block in theme.liquid that renders on every page. It is easy, and it does very little: four hundred product pages carrying identical markup give an assistant no reason to prefer any one of them.

Assistants answer product-level questions — does this fit wide feet, is it machine washable, how long does the battery last. An FAQ that answers those on the product page they are about is what gets cited. AEO Track writes to a per-product metafield so each page can carry its own answers, and gives you the product-template snippet to render it.

What AEO Track will not do

Worth knowing before you connect, not after.

We are not a Shopify App Store app

You connect with a custom app token you create in your own admin, and you can revoke it there at any moment. Anyone telling you to install something from the App Store is not describing this product.

We do not auto-write an FAQ for every product

Generating an FAQ is one AI call per product, so running it across a large catalog would cost more than the subscription — and answers to questions nobody asked are not worth publishing. You choose which products get one.

We do not promise a ranking or a date

Nobody controls what an assistant says, and any tool that quotes you a percentage or a timeline is guessing. What AEO Track gives you is the measurement, the gap, and the fix — the same evidence we use on ourselves.

We do not touch anything but one metafield

AEO Track writes schema.org FAQ markup into the aeotrack metafield namespace. It never edits products, prices, inventory, themes or orders, and it never places an order.

The Shopify integration is on every paid plan

It starts at Starter, $29/month. Bigger plans track more websites and more questions — they do not unlock the Shopify connection, because gating the thing that makes the score meaningful would be a strange way to sell it. Annual billing is 20% off, and the 14-day trial unlocks everything without a card.

Shopify AI visibility questions

How do I know if ChatGPT recommends my Shopify products?

Ask it the way a shopper would. AEO Track puts questions like “best waterproof hiking boots for wide feet” to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Grok, records every answer, and reports whether your store was named, which stores were named instead, and which pages the engines cited. The questions are built from your own store catalog, so they are about what you actually sell rather than a generic category list.

Is AEO Track a Shopify App Store app?

No. You connect your store by creating a custom app in your own Shopify admin and pasting its Admin API token into AEO Track. There is nothing to install from the Shopify App Store. The scopes needed are read_products, read_metafields and write_metafields.

What does AEO Track write into my Shopify store?

One thing: a metafield in the aeotrack namespace containing schema.org FAQPage JSON-LD, either on the shop or on a product you choose. It is rendered by a one-line Liquid snippet you paste into your theme once. AEO Track never edits your products, prices, inventory, themes or orders, and it never places an order.

Why publish an FAQ to a single product instead of the whole store?

Because assistants answer product-level questions. One storewide FAQ block repeated across four hundred product pages is duplicate markup, not four hundred answers — the same text everywhere gives an engine no reason to prefer one product page over another. An FAQ that answers the questions asked about that specific product is what earns the citation.

Does AEO Track write an FAQ for every product automatically?

No, and this is deliberate. Generating an FAQ is one AI call per product, so doing it across a large catalog would cost more to run than the subscription is worth — and auto-written answers about products nobody asked about are not worth publishing. You generate FAQs for the products that matter and choose where each one lands.

Which plan do I need for the Shopify integration?

Every paid plan includes it, starting at Starter ($29/month). The 14-day free trial unlocks every feature and needs no credit card. Larger plans track more websites and more questions rather than unlocking the Shopify connection itself.
