How the numbers are counted
Each count is taken from the search-grounded answers AEOTrack's tracker read during the month for its customers' tracked questions, one answer per engine per question per check. An answer counts as cited when it links the tracked business's own site as a source, and as named when it mentions the business by name; an answer can be either, both or neither, and no answer is counted twice. Categories are the ones customers gave their own businesses, and a category's share is its named answers divided by all named answers in the month.
The page is rebuilt once a month from the published export; the same numbers are available as JSON at /data/named-report.json. Nothing here is estimated or extrapolated: until an export is published the tables say so. How a single answer is scored is on the methodology page.
